Accident Management System Content
This concerns the element of the management system as related to "learning from accidents and
incidents". You may call it "Accident Investigation" or something like that.
Basically there are two important issues here that you can find elsewhere on this
website:
A. the structure that the element should have
The structure is there to make sure that the activities that are mentioned as part of B will
generate the desired or expected results. So we are taking about objectives of the element and the
periodic evaluation - by means of doing an (internal) audit - of (1) what is being done and, (2) the actual
results obtained. This structure can be found
here.
B. the content of the element
The content relates to questions such as: what must be reported and when?, who will do the
investigation and how?, what detail will be registered?, who will do cause analysis and how?, what actions
will be generated and how will they be followed up until completion?
The
accident protocol will in principle contain that information.
