Accident Photographs
Photography is a valuable aid to the investigator. Photographs can record extensive,
indescribable detail and make records to supplement the investigator's notes. Photography is a learned and
practiced art and the investigator must be proficient in the use of his camera if it is to aid rather than hinder
his investigation. Certain characteristics of cameras, films and lenses control the appearance of objects in
photographs. When known and understood, these characteristics can become advantages to the
investigator-photographer in the process of gathering evidence for analysis.
