Accident Costs Iceberg

The broader scope of safety and control of accidents (see triangle above) also leads to much greater costs reduction opportunities than just focussing on the injury type accident alone. While here too, there are more of these accidents costs icebergs to be found through the Internet, they all point into the same direction: the costs of substandard work and conditions are much greater than those of injuries alone. The Iceberg shown below illustrates this. 

Accidents and other undesired events cause human suffering and can have extensive influence on the profitability of an organization.
